Global media leaders stand at the crossroads of humanity’s survival: steer society toward a carbon-negative future or drive us off the cliff of climate collapse.
With the media leadership’s influential backing for urgent climate action, it would be possible to inspire the rapid, meaningful change needed – much like that shown by Western media during WWII.
Today, the stakes have never been higher, and the whole of humanity needs the media leaders commitment to protecting the planet and future.

A radical new story is needed…
The climate crisis is the most terrifying horror story of all time, threatening humanity’s very existence but it is also an opportunity to rewrite the defining narrative of our time.
Rather than covering the collapse of nature and the end of civilisation as we know it (who wants that ending?) … we need the global media leadership to instead advocate for the unprecedented coordination needed across the fossil-fuel economy – bringing together civil society, businesses, and governments. Yet, the media, arguably the most powerful forces in our democracy, due to them being the major authors of public narratives, remain absent as the active collaborators so crucially needed in shaping a future grounded in positive climate action.
Through initiatives like the Global Media Summit and the New Climate Media Charter, we aim to challenge the narrative and change the course of history.
By urgently shifting media narratives away from high-carbon lifestyles and toward fostering collective action, we seek to transform the media from the villain of the story to its hero – advocating for the civilisational changes required and inspiring a future rooted in care for one another and the planet.
Imagine the media fully backing the action needed: rapidly mobilising governments, businesses, and, crucially, their audiences to turn the page to a new chapter where responsible, science-based journalism unites humanity in addressing the climate emergency.

Caspar grew up on Dartmoor, surrounded by the wild moorland, to which he has always felt connected. This upbringing helped instil a healthy love of wildlife and nature.
He spent most of his career working in transport in one way or another, starting as a YTS mechanic before moving to London to study music. To support his musical studies, he became a cycle courier and, within a few years, ran the largest cycle courier department in London. Running a cycle-based transport department for the largest independent photographic lab in the UK gave him valuable insight into how to distribute packages swiftly and cheaply around the busiest city in Europe.
After an incredibly enjoyable decade as a courier and transport manager, he co-founded a cycling sports events company called Rollapalluza, which he ran full-time for a decade before selling in 2019. Running a cycle sports company during the British golden age for cycling meant rubbing shoulders with some of the best Olympians and professional athletes in the world. During this time he organised and founded some notable cycling events, including the Urban Hill Climb, which he handed over to the London Cycling Campaign in 2019.
It was while organising cycling events that Caspar started getting involved in campaigning. He started supporting Stop Killing Cyclists and quickly became a key organiser. This is where he formed a strong relationship with Donnachadh McCarthy. Stop Killing Cyclists was instrumental in enabling London’s mayor to start building a network of safe cycle lanes and implement policy to make HGVs safer.
Caspar is an eco-auditor by profession and has been actively involved in campaigning for media, climate, and nature with numerous groups. Helping to facilitate and delivery a range of campaigns from marches to blockades and ,pre creative direct actions.
He is an ardent believer in practising what he preaches as an environmental campaigner and lives in Exeter with his partner and son.

An environmental campaigner, strategist, and activist from Devon, Liz was the Lead Coordinator for Extinction Rebellion’s The Big One and Restore Nature Now, mobilising hundreds of thousands of people in powerful climate actions in London in 2023 and 2024.
A co-founder of Eco Warriorz, she coordinates teams of hundreds of volunteers to enact behavioural change for sustainability through creative outreach at some of the UK’s largest festivals.
Liz is also the co-creator of Rise & Shine, using neuroscience to empower personal transformation by empowering thousands to wake up to guided meditations each day.
In 2023, Liz participated in the peaceful blockade of Wales’s Ffos-y-fran coal mine. Using a pink boat to highlight the mine’s illegal operation, she and others occupied the entrance for over 24 hours before eventually being arrested and stretchered away – a direct action that preceded the mine’s closure.
With over 20 years of experience in media and graphic design, with her company Lingo Design, Liz is committed to challenging the status quo and driving impactful change in the climate justice movement.
