The Climate Media Charter outlines 12 critical steps any media organisation can take to address the global climate and nature crises.
Media outlets hold immense influence.
By adopting these commitments, media owners and companies can establish credibility and globally important leadership in climate and nature responsible journalism. They can inspire audiences, governments and corporations to step up to the level of urgent climate and nature protections and repair needed to save humanity from the catastrophic future that the UN warns we are hurtling towards.
This charter provides a framework for organisations to lead by example, embedding transparency, accountability and collaboration into their operations and messaging. Through these actions, media companies can position themselves as powerful trusted voices in a time of unprecedented, human-civilisation-threatening environmental challenges, inspiring the confidence and collective action needed.
